my mom bought this contraption...i am not sure what to call it but the basic idea is that you can hang your socks on it so they can dry outside. instead of socks, i thought it would be perfect hanging like a mobile with clothespins clipped to atcs. it was a great bargain, just a dollar at a store in chinatown.

erraticus zine/artitude zine
last week i received the latest issue of erraticus zine, issue #8 as well as a back issue, #2. what i love about erraticus is that it's pure eye candy as a full color zine with beautiful collage and mixed media art by various artists. there's also a section featuring two wonderful and whimsical etsy shops! erraticus zine is a wonderful source of inspiration that i can look at again and again.
I also recieved two back issues of artitude zine. artitude zine's focus is also mixed media, collage and altered art. i enjoy reading the articles on projects, though i often find that the black and white photos are too dark. i don't seem to to enjoy looking at the art as much - maybe the style does not appeal to me.

latest work

i am very much enjoying the use of heavily textured papers in my collages right now as well as combining blue & green together. my favorite colors are purple, green and blue but i find that more and more green is very prevalent in the collages i make. i think purple is a lot more of a rare color compared to the other colors.
i am also been awaiting my custom designed business cards and a box of supplies to come into the mail...i want them to come now!

funky nature chunky book

i had a fun time last month making atc sized book pages for a 'funky nature' themed chunky book. a chunky book or fat book as they are also known as are collaborative art books. a group of artists will sign up to make a certain number of pages in a theme chosen by the host. then they will send the pages to the host. the host assembles the pages together, binds the books and then sends the books to the artists.

the group that hosted this book was atcards.com the main focus of the forum is trading atcs but there are also a section for altered art swaps.
what i loved about recieving this book was that there was a diverse range of styles and colors. it was well worth the wait! this was my first chunky book, i can't wait for the second.

as you can see in the pictures, we went crazy with fibers and color!
