afternoon tea

it was tea for two on sunday afternoon at the secret garden tea room. it was my first time having british teatime and we had thin sandwiches, buttery blueberry scones and even a bit of cheesecake! yum :) i tried the 'victorian vanilla' which is black tea flavored with vanilla and it was wonderful - not overly sweet and creamy when i added some milk.

we had a small table in the corner and the decor of the place was quite victorian, very feminine with floral drapes and wallpaper. not exactly what id envision for my house, but for afternoon tea it was fun to see!

alice in wonderland chunky book swap

i'm excited to join in on another chunky book swap at atcards.com and this time the theme is one i really love, alice in wonderland. its going to be a small group this time with just 10 players, but the work is all originals, not color copies. i love recieving originals rather than copies, it really is worth it to see others work in person

in my attic room

in my attic room in my attic room

in my attic room

i dont believe i have posted any pictures of my workspace/bedroom. i am up in the attic, so the ceilings are low and slanted. it is a long and slightly narrow space and the lack of a closet doesnt really bother me much either. what you see is a wooden table. i am hesitant to call it a work table because i dont really make stuff there, i usually spread out newspaper or something and work on the floor. the floor can be like a sea of paper when i am on the hunt looking for that perfect scrap in the drawers. papers get flung aside, ripped apart or just be dumped back into the drawers. note that i didnt take a picture of the floor, ;) somehow i dont know how i accumulated so much paper but i have...dont ask me how.

ps. if you want to know more about the things seen in the pictures just click on the photo and i have notes written on the picture at flickr.

to go (a collage a day)

two

every new year, my parents replace the old calendars with new ones of course. its funny though, because in the kitchen we have three calendars hanging. one by the sink which is the kind you rip the page to see the next and the other two are monthly views. i wonder why they always hang so many calendars...the big number 2 is a cut out from the daily calendar.

yesterday and today's collages

yesterday's collages, soft colors and neutrals. i tried to be a lot more spare in the composition and i liked that a lot. i had so much fun i made two collages instead of just one. sometimes its easier to make two at a time as sort of a series...

something blue

this is the collage i made today and in my drawers of scraps and ephemera i tend to 'save' certain things . maybe its because its so lovely i dont want to use it up or its just because i dont know what to do with it. i also have a lot of junk in those drawers i never use so this time i tried to use papers i dont normally pick out, for whatever odd reason.
