frida kahlo at the SF MOMA
today i went with my sister to see the Frida Kahlo exhibit at the SF MOMA. even though it wasnt a weekend, it was still insanely crowded in the exhibit. i was familiar with some of her works, they had been ones i had seen in books, but it is much more exciting to see her paintings in person.
it's too bad it was so crowded as i would have liked to taken more time to see the paintings up closer, the Two Fridas is probably my favorite piece by her. i love it for it's surreal qualities and also it makes me examine how there were different aspects of frida's personality, maybe things she kept hidden and things on the surface.
