whimsical oddities skinny book pages

for the background, i used a fake credit card to smooth the paint down onto the watercolor paper. i used gold & purple paints and blended them together. i like how specks of gold show up and how using the side of the credit card created an interesting background. the credit card technique is from lisa vollraths article called credit card painting. i kept my composition pretty simple on these, because the background is really lovely so it was much easier to do a simple collage.

red skinny book pages

i like working with a single color palette, seeing the varying shades of a color. i don'use red or pink much in my collage art, so i thought it would be fun to work in these two colors. i like the touch of romance and delicacy of these pages.

skinny book swap

these are two of my pages for chysti of the altered abbey's skinny book swap i'm excited to be in this swap, since i havent had the chance to participate in a skinny book swap before. chrysti is still taking sign ups, but i think spots are going fast, so get there quickly!

for these two pages, i liked the idea of using 2 inch squares and just working with white with small touches of black & grey to feature white in its beautiful light.

if you read the latest cloth paper scissors, chrysti's article about making skinny books pages is featured. pages are made of #140 watercolor paper and ephemera, size is 4 inches by 8 inches. i will post more pages as i am ready.
